UHSAA Announces Second Consideration of Regions for 2025-2027
Dec 12, 2024
The Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) Board of Trustees met and passed a second consideration of regions for 2025-27. The consideration of member schools can be found on the UHSAA website at the following link: https://www.uhsaa.org/realignment/2527SecondConsiderationAllClassifications.pdf
A public hearing was held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, to receive feedback from districts and schools on the placement of member schools into regions. In addition to the hearing, the UHSAA Board of Trustees received numerous emails to consider regarding the realignment of member schools.
The BOT will meet again at the UHSAA offices on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 9:00 am, for any member school to request to apply to a higher classification in a specific sport or activity.
Those member schools requesting to apply to a higher classification by sport or activity need to send notice to Executive Director Rob Cuff at cuff@uhsaa.org
A representative from the member school requesting to apply to a higher classification must be present at the meeting on December 19, 2024. Once a school is placed in the higher classification, then the school must remain in the new placement for that specific sport or activity for the duration of the established two-year alignment.
The first contests under the new alignment will take place in the fall of 2025. The enrollment data upon which the alignment is based will be less than one year old. The UHSAA Board of Trustees retains the responsibility for alignment of all member schools.
